Supporting Care When It Matters Most | St Clare Hospice

At Hashtag Big Smile, our mission has always been about building communities, supporting people, and creating lasting impact.

But some causes go beyond community development.

They support people and families at the most difficult moments of their lives.

That’s why we are incredibly proud to support St Clare Hospice.

St Clare Hospice provides free, compassionate care to people living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as vital support for their families and loved ones. Across West Essex and East Hertfordshire, they help hundreds of local people every year—offering not just medical care, but emotional, psychological and practical support during end-of-life journeys.

Their work is deeply human.

It’s about dignity, comfort, and making sure people can spend their final days in the way they choose—surrounded by care, compassion and support.

And importantly, they rely heavily on community support to continue delivering these services, with the majority of their funding coming from donations and fundraising.

That’s where partnerships like ours come in.

Through Hashtag Big Smile, alongside Alloy Fabweld, we’ve been proud to contribute over £50,000 to support the incredible work they do. This has included supporting a range of fundraising initiatives and events that help keep their services running for local families.

One standout example is the continued support of charity fundraising events, including golf days that have raised significant funds for the hospice—helping ensure their care reaches those who need it most.

But our support hasn’t just been financial.

Using our expertise in construction and manufacturing, we’ve also had the privilege of delivering a meaningful, physical contribution to the hospice itself—designing and building a bespoke canopy for their ambulance arrival entrance.

While it may seem like a simple structure, its purpose is incredibly important.

It provides shelter, dignity and protection for patients arriving at the hospice—ensuring that even in the most vulnerable moments, they are met with care, respect and comfort from the very first step.

That’s what impact looks like to us.

It’s not just about raising funds—it’s about using what we have to make a tangible difference.
