How It All Started
At Hashtag Big Smile, our work is driven by the belief that real impact begins with people.
We believe in creating #BigSmiles by working directly with local communities to build meaningful, lasting progress. Our mission is simple: to equip them with the infrastructure, skills and opportunities they need to thrive.
Around the world, we support and develop community-led programmes spanning construction, education, conservation and youth development. Every initiative is designed to uplift local people, create opportunity and strengthen the foundations of a sustainable community.
This work is driven by our dedicated team of Big Smile volunteers and partners who are, quite literally, changing our world one smile at a time.

Our Projects
South Africa
In Meadowlands, Soweto, we’re building a safe, thriving community hub focused on safety, education and opportunity. We’ve established football, dance and chess clubs at the heart of the neighbourhood, alongside after-school programmes, 24/7 security and job creation. The project empowers local people through skills, education and long-term community development - building a safe, sustainable centre that helps children and families thrive.

United Kingdom
We’re proud to support Steel Warriors, who work to reduce knife crime by turning confiscated knives into free outdoor gyms - spaces that get young people talking about knife crime and help them build the physical and mental confidence to walk the streets unarmed. We partner with them to tackle complex community needs and inspire long-term change across the UK.
Rwanda
In partnership with Proud Homes, our founders are working to develop affordable, sustainable housing solutions in Rwanda - building stronger foundations for families and communities across Africa.
