That’s why our work in Meadowlands, Soweto has always focused on more than just creating programmes—we focus on creating pathways.

Through our support of Meadowlands Academy F.C., we’ve helped build an environment where young players are given the structure, support and belief they need to grow—not just as footballers, but as individuals.

Because football, at its best, is never just about the game.

It’s about discipline.

It’s about confidence.

It’s about giving young people a direction.

Working within the Meadowlands community, we’ve sponsored multiple football teams, ensuring players have access to the essentials that many take for granted. From funding kits and equipment to supporting hygiene and wellbeing, every detail matters when creating a professional, supportive environment.

But the impact goes deeper than that.

We’ve also funded full-time coaches—people who provide consistency, mentorship and structure. Coaches who show up every day. Coaches who guide, challenge and support players both on and off the pitch.

Because without guidance, talent can only go so far.

And alongside football, we’ve supported further education opportunities for players—recognising that a strong future isn’t built on sport alone, but on knowledge, life skills and long-term thinking.

This combination—sport, structure and education—is where real change happens.

It creates an environment where young people can thrive.

And sometimes, it creates moments that remind you exactly why this work matters.

One of those moments is the story of Thulani Mabaso.

Coming through Meadowlands Academy, Thulani—known as “Touch”—developed his game within the very system designed to give players a chance. Through hard work, consistency and the right support around him, he progressed through the ranks, eventually earning his opportunity with Kaizer Chiefs F.C..

In January 2026, he made his senior debut in the Betway Premiership, before going on to feature in CAF Inter-club competition shortly after—marking his arrival on a much bigger stage.

From Meadowlands…

To professional football.
